Brisket Cook Off Details
- The deadline for contest entry is Saturday, May 23rd.
- Free Event & Free contest entry, brisket meal or beef hot dogs, all the trimmings, dessert and drinks.
- Contestants must pre-register
Event Location: LIFE Church 26189 Westheimer Pkwy, 77494
Event Date & Time: Sunday, May 24th Immediately after service
Check-in Time: 9am-10am
Serving Time Begins: Immediately after service
Brisket Cook-Off Rules & Regulations
- Each contestant will cut a piece for the judges.
- Any cooking method is acceptable (smoking, roasting, slow-cooking, etc.).
- Briskets must be fully cooked prior to arrival.
- Briskets must be prepared and cooked off-site in accordance with local health codes.
- Each contestant must provide a minimum of 12 or 14 pounds of cooked brisket.
- Cooked brisket must be kept at safe serving temperatures (140°F or higher).
- Contestants must provide their own warming/serving equipment (cooler, chafing dishes etc.).
- Contestants must bring their own knife, cutting board any special tool they would like to use for their brisket.
- All contestants must check in at the registration table by 9am.
- Each contestant will be assigning a number at the check in.
- Bring your own serving utensils, gloves, and cutting board.
- Contestants must clean their area after the event.
- Trash and leftover food must be disposed of properly.
Brisket will be judged on the following:
- Taste/Flavor – 40%
- Tenderness/Texture – 30%
- Appearance/Presentation – 20%
Judging & Voting Process
- This year’s Brisket Cook-Off winners will be determined entirely by 5 judges.
- Each judge will receive access to a paper voting ballet for voting.

Results
- Votes will be announced at 1:50pm.
- In the event of a tie, a designated judge will cast the final deciding vote.
